Community Readiness for Health Reform
in Bernalillo County
- A Panel Discussion with Health Leaders -
Wednesday, January 12, 20115:30 – 8:00 p.m.
African American Center for the Performing Arts
Copper & San Pedro NE – NM Expo, Gate 3
Bernalillo County Community Health Council members feel that this is an opportune time to bring together healthcare leaders in Bernalillo County to discuss how they are preparing for the many components of the new health care reform law, which goes into full effect in 2014.
The purpose of the event is to share information and explore ways to ensure positive benefits for our community through health care reform.
Leaders from Presbyterian Hospital, Lovelace Medical Center, UNM Health Sciences Center and Hospital, First Choice Community Healthcare, First Nations Community Healthsource, Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless, Albuquerque Area Indian Health Service, NM Department of Health and possibly others will be invited to participate. New Mexico State Representative and radio host Janice Arnold Jones will guide the discussion using questions and topics that are designed to elicit information on existing planning efforts, as well as creative ideas for possible future collaboration.
Reflecting the Health Council’s “Access to Health Care” goal, this event will help move us toward the creation of a functional county-wide health planning group that focuses its collective efforts on assuring access to care for all Bernalillo County residents.
The BCCHC respectfully requests your presence at this important panel discussion. Contact Leigh Caswell at leighacaswell@gmail.com with any questions.
Thank you in advance and we look forward to your participation in this community‐wide effort to increase access to health care for all of Bernalillo County’s residents. Light refreshments will be served.
